Algae thrives off oxygen, how many people do you know that like micro bubbles in their reef tank? Or better yet how many people do you know that use an air stone in a saltwater tank. Personally I know zero. And I know from personal experience that micro bubbles will cause tremendous algae growth.
That's not what you said here... you mean C02 not oxygen?

Aside from aesthetic reasons, having an air stone does not cause algae.

Put one in your tank. See what happens. Lol.... You fools are too funny.
I've used air stones in plenty of quarantine tanks and never had algae problems? Did you not read the link? Near the bottom in regards to aeration and the effect on algae. Don't confuse trolling with debating bad advice.

Put it in your REEF tank. QT is totally different. I gave him solid advice you can be a nit picky prick if you want. Matter of fact remains. No one has them because of algae. You've hands down lost this debate. Leave this guys thread alone. Message me if you have anything else to say to me.

Can you provide me a link to an online article or a book that was published that supports your claim? That's what I did but you seem to be ignoring the information. What does it matter if its a fowlr or reef? I'm just not following.

Your ignorant.
If you want to prove my claim put one in your tank.
You'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

i dont know why but it happens.
Wow real life experience and didn't have to get all crazy about it. Are you talking about film algae on the glass? I'd like to try this in my tank... I'm very curious.

when the bubbles stick to the glass and i dont knock them off i get algae growing faster on that spot. i dont know the science behind it just what i have seen in my case.
I have experienced this as well. Which is why I gave the advice I did. But these two knuckles heads seem to be over thinking it. Yet they won't put an air stone in their reef... I wonder why......

It's your attitude. You're the one calling people names and getting defensive. If you'd read Cody's link you'd understand.

I don't need a link to tell me what I've experienced. Thanks though. I didn't call anyone any names until you two got all scientific telling me I was wrong, when clearly 99% of reefers don't use them for the simple fact that they help algae grow. You two are making me laugh this is too funny...
