Can't we have an intelligent debate? Without resorting to name calling? I can admit when I'm wrong.
If you got affended by me saying your being ignorant maybe you should read more thoroughly first, so I don't have to point out other facts.....

This guy is going to be scared to ever come back to the forum.
Hey man debates are healthy. Not sure why Scout has to take it to another level. This forum is about learning and today I learned something new. Escalating to name calling is on another level. A simple response of I'm not sure why, I just know it happens... like Jason's response.

The bubbles amplify the light... They in no way feed algae growth... Air stones are 100% safe in reef tanks... They do not produce micro bubbles that cause proteins to stick, and stick to your glass...

Yeah the name calling was inappropriate... intelligent debates are fun when both parties stay civil. A simple disagreement does not show disrespect or is intended to be insulting to anyone... on the other hand name calling does not help anyone or anything accomplish what was intended to be accomplished and it shows a high level of disrespect in the context you were name calling scout.

ya i dont think a air stone will grow more algae just flowing in the tank like the op had. i get more when the bubbles stay on the glass for a day or 2.
maybe the ''amplify light'' is what dose it.

It's is okay discussions are good and maybe both of you guys are right there's a lot of different ways to keep a tank and not one answer or method is correct the reason I keep an airstone is so my fishes have enough oxygen to breath because I Afraid of not enough oxygen in my tank.

Hey Jason my girlfriend works like a minute away from your store and sometimes I go I there to check what you have. You have a great selection of fish and I am waiting to get paid so I can drop by and buy fishes.

It's your attitude. You're the one calling people names and getting defensive. If you'd read Cody's link you'd understand.
Banning someone for life for getting in an argument seems like a little much no? I don't agree with name calling and for whatever reason bean and scout rub each other the wrong way. Some people don't like being poked and prodded for their opinion. Simple as that, don't make it right calling someone a name but he's not a theif nor has he been a dishonest person. Further more he has been a contributing member on our from for a while now. He may not care if he's banned but with out a warning or some sort of notice I question the process that has been taken. I'm asking you to reconsider the steps you have taken im sure @bean would disagree with him being banned.

It wasn't the first time that he flew off the deep end during a debate err argument. Or the first time he's resorted to childish name calling. Or threatening other members with violence in a pump thread. Its the manner in which he speaks to people when there wasn't ill will intended in the first place. We are mostly all adults here.

I concur, but it is very difficult to read the tone of someone's voice via Internet. Being angry and aggressive to me doesn't call for being banned and if it even does without a warning to correct ones behavior seems extremely harsh. There is nothing constructive in banning someone just like that. As a teacher Over the last 10 years I never once have resorted to punishing anyone for any sort of behavior rather talking it through and focusing on what was done wrong and can be done to change that next time. Also he doesn't run around doing this to everyone rather just you, I mean this in the nicest way but why would you even engage him if you know how he will react. Your a smart sincere generous reefer but I have to say almost seems like he was bated.
