What do you do with your RODI waste?
Do you do anything with your dirty salt water change?

I used to run RODI tubing under the garage door to the lawn, even to the pool. I collected some in a 30 gallon rubbermaid trash can with wheels and gave it to my wife for her roses.

Ive heard of people filling their washing machines with RODI waste, but many suffered the inevitable flood in the house.

I have been dumping my dirty salt water change on my front lawn for years without problems.

that is terrific.

I already have a booster pump sitting around, all i need is to fashion a solenoid valve, pressure switch assembly, check valves and flow restrictor assembly. hmmm...

I wonder if this would work with a tankless water heater setup.

I tie my dump water line to a chair, literally. The line retracts if I don't. I have it exiting on a lawn that I hate and am very allergic to.

I also pull it to the flowers. Salt water gets flushed down the toilet, but might start dumping it on the lawn.

Once I hook up the backyard (2years in the making) I will set up a watering bin for emergencies and watering.

My sump and other equipment is outside. everything goes into the planters. As an avid gardener, i thought the saltwater would kill the plants. I doesn't seem to hurt them and i dump 50 gal a week. Plants and grass are happy.

that should work great as skimmate is high in nitrogen, which is of course the main ingredient in fertilizer.

skimmate is also known to contain bicarbonate (alkalinity), so I wouldnt rec giving it to acid loving plants like roses, citrus, azaleas, etc. Im no gardner......apparently its ok with roses

does anyone know if the salt will ultimately make it to the water table. I would think it does. maybe i should send my saltwater into the drain where it will make it into the ocean. where is the trade off of treating water and sending it to the drain?
