I think I could use five 4' bars over this tank and cover everything. Two meso blues, one OG pop in the middle and maybe one reef crest and one tropic sun or two reef crest. Depending on how "white" you like it? I would probably be happy with three meso blues and two reef crest. Maybe throw in a 360x or two for shimmer?
That's the one bummer about the double bracing on my crystal dynamics. They use black silicon and while it looks clean no light can penetrate. That left me with an opening slightly smaller that 42"x30". I went with the 3 foot bars due to that.

I think you'll be fine with the 3' bars, they have amazing spread and punch compared to the Orpheks. I think you'll really dig these lights. In fact, once I'm done with this Cadlights tank, I'm going to reseal it and probably set it up with just bars and a couple Kessil's. I'm not sure where I'll put it, but I'll find a spot for it. I just love the dimensions of this tank. I have a feeling that Luca is going to improve these lights even more down the road.

Those are some cool dims. I'm tempted to do the same down the road. Once I see how these perform in person I'll be able to make up my mind. Also when I see the different spectrums they offer.

My ATI ICP results came back looking pretty good with not as large of corrections as usual, with the exception of nickel
D7567B99-643D-4716-B52D-B5693D12F11A.jpeg

Po4 was high at .26. I tested .22 that day so at least my checker isn’t too far off. Nitrates tested the same at 11/10.
The icp did show a SG of 36.98PPT while I’ve been testing 35. Not sure which to believe there.

I also have elevated potassium at 460 and barium at 40 even though I never dose. I also am spot on Vanadium 1.5 even though I don’t dose. I’m thinking these must be included in the ESV two part.

That's why I'm going back to TM CarboCalcium instead of All for Reef, too many swings in traces for a larger system. What are using to check salinity? I'm not a big fan of digital refractometers, as some calibrate to zero using RO, which is a big no, no. TM glass hydrometer is usually spot on and it's pretty hard to mess up, as long as you're close to 77 degrees, give or take a little.

Damn bro your colors and photography are always on point. Given the opportunity, would you go back to metal halides?

I'm using Hanna Salinity/Temp Probe. I let it go out of calibration and my alst test was very high, 38 ppt or so. I calibrates by 35ppt solution, I soak in a sock to bring it up to 77F where i keep my tank.

I'll check out the TM hydrometer. If it's not too expensive I'll get it as a double checker if nothing else.

Thanks man. They are starting to come around now. I'm really liking what I see.

If I could make it work aesthetically? Without hesitation I'd have MH above this tank with supplemental blue bars for blue viewing.

That's not to say I dont like the PM t5 though. I feel like I nailed the spectrum I wanted to see with my bulb combo and the coverage is even and awesome. Actually very high PAR if I was using the meter right but MH just has everything in one that I love. An MH tank just looks so alive and not only do the colors of coral pop the fish look incredible under it.

So your results came in this handwritten format, at least mine came as a pdf….jk

Is the CarboCalcium for dosing or a CalRX?

Either of you notice any polyp retraction after dosing ProBio?

I’ve only dosed twice so far, the first my P04 hit 0 from .12 overnight and the second time I didn’t test p04 but both times I had PE retraction.

That sounds odd to me. I feel like I had the opposite reaction but wasn't paying that close of attention to it. Crazy it dropped po4 that much in your tank. My tank actually bumped up a bit but I was dosing Substrate sauce in combo with ProBio. Apparently the po4 in substrate sauce is very high, so that once dosed per instructions it adds .03 to the tank with the bacteria.
