Well do you remember the movie, Green Mile, and after the guy has swallowed all that sickness from Tom Hanks, spits out the weird black mist, (curing Tom of his illness) and then he says "I'm a little tired now". Well, anyway, that is how I kind of feel now. No not the swallowing sickness stuff nor the spitting out the weird black mist, I am just a little tired now. I will share some more photos in a bit.

From my old camera, older photograph (like a few weeks ago or so), and I could not figure out how to white balance and it is from the side of the tank and lots of coral are out of focus, and it is generally a terrible photograph and it has been miserably criticized previously as a terrible photograph but if you think of it as artistic (that seems like a very reasonable and plausible excuse), pretty cool pic.

And although not a FTS, it is a little teaser (not quite ready for the FTS).

The first sentence may have been a run on sentence but sometimes it takes a little time to get all the thoughts out, and even so, it all makes sense to me in a strange kind of way ( i guess "may have been a run on" is not quite accurate, kind of obvious it was a terrible run on sentence)

I will try to take similar shot with my new camera and my now freshly honed photography skills.

So I never purchase wild colonies or frags, well never is a strong word. So I got this frag from a newbie on this forum who listed it for sale and I felt bad for him so I bought it before it died in his tank. It immediately RTN in may tank, so I fragged it, and the picture is three frags now coalescing into one colony. Its a red acropora, not millie and it is outstanding.

Oh and this is neither an sps nor do i think wild, but it is pretty. Got it from a different local reefer.

Okay, okay. So I have no real estate left in my tank but I hadn't been to Vivid's in a while and I went there this morning with zero intention of purchasing anything. So remember, I do not buy wild, but this was from a large colony they just got in, so I assume wild. He offered a mini-colony for just a little more than a small frag and I broke down and purchased it. Must have been karma for me and the frag.

And these are the steps I take before adding a frag. Certainly you start with close visual inspection.

Here is the frag in the bag:

Here is the frag out of water on its original plug

I then remove the plug from the frag and place it in about 4 ounces (half a cup) of its original water.

I then get out my Bayer and 10ml syringe (this stuff is extremely hazardous, do not touch it with your skin, well ventilated room and do not spill it.)

then add 10 ml's of bayer to the 4 ounces of water in the cup

and this is what the cup looks like with the bayer

I wait atleast 5 minutes

I get a cup of "tank" water (not from the collection bag water), so I can take the frag out of the cup of water with 10ml of bayer. Place it in good tank water. Remember do not touch frag with bayer, do not put hands into cup with bayer, use tweezers or cotton pliers. Bayer is hazardous to your health, do not let it touch your skin and do not inhale vapor.

notice brand new plug with zap glue waiting for frag. And notice about 6 minutes passed, I always wait atleast 5 minutes.

Then glue it in tank.

I have zero room for it, so I found a convenient spot for it. I will later move it to its final spot when I figure out where to place it. I left a "spacer" in this picture because the frag is so big, it wanted to fall over before the glue was set. When the zap set up, I removed the spacer.

And finally, here is the frag a few hours later. Forgot to turn pumps off before I took this picture, oops.

That is so cool, I have a horizontal growing morph and you have the vertical growing morph of setosa
It grows depending on factors of the tank. Mine has a lot of Par on it and low medium wave action. I was lucky and got the piece from Puff and in my tank it got crazy growth in 3-4 months. I think if you don't have a setosa you don't have reef nut$.

And back to sps, this is the Red Robin Stag. It was blocked out by my red dragon colony which I am hoping to relocate elsewhere in the tank to give both of these an opportunity to spread their wings, so to speak.

And I previously posted a top down of the kiwi strawberry prostrata which I believe has been renamed Not Famous Yet or something like that. It is from coral collection and what is cool is their picture is truly representative of the coral. I find it amazing. I am repeating the photo of top down but adding today's through the glass. I did not turn the flow off, so it is far from a perfect photograph, but nonetheless, this is an awesome acro.

Previously shown top down photo

Today's through the glass. Looks like my white balance is off, because although my red planet looks pretty nice, it is not that crazy! But it is not that far off. I don't think I need to point it out but sometimes we all miss the obvious, the yellow arrow is pointing to the kiwi strawberry prostrata

My leopard wanted to say hello.

Picking up a potter's wrasse from Coral Gazer's next week. Been looking for a potter's wrasse for a while now. It seems anytime I hear someone has it in stock then by the time I call, they are all gone.
