so quick update. My phosphates were reading high but my sps looked ok and I didn't see any algae but once I removed my tangs, the algae grew. so I changed my filters and it stopped growing hair algae but I pretty much have been pulling it out by hand because its taking too long to die off.

My next and worse problem is the aptasia outbreak. I'm getting stressed about it. See for yourself

But I took a couple of pics while I was taking a pic of the aptasia. It's the only pictures with the least amount of aptasia in the background

The berghia lives!!!! about 4 months ago I was given a single berghia that was super tiny. I started him out in my frag tank and he took care of the few aptasias I had in there. Then I started adding loose rocks from my display tank and he took care of those.

Well since I couldn't remove anymore rocks I put him in my display tank never to be seen again. Until tonight!! My wife was like what's that? And I jumped up to see and sure enough it was the single berghia all fat and huge. I don't know why he was on the glass but he was walking up the front of the glass on my tank. I moved him back to an aptasia field.

Sadly the filefish I had started eating my SPS and I had to relocate him to my fish only. I'm wondering now if I will have success by adding more berghias

Thanks. It's funny because I thought the filefish might have been eating some but I couldn't really tell. I saw him nip at an aptasia once but he also got the taste for sps.

I actually never saw my berghia that i got from the first group buy. Until the day before the order came in for the last gb i did. They were monsters probably close to an inch and a half. Hoping mine are still there but haven't seen em since my last move.

It's always nice to know that the tiny animals you buy for $10 a pop make it. I bet they'd do well if you added more.

So my frag tank let me down. I wasn't getting the flow I wanted. I had drilled a 3/4 inch drain and a 3/4 inch return but anything more than 200gph seemed like it was overflowing.

So instead of adding a pump inside an already small tank. I re-drilled the tank. I drilled over the 3/4 inch hole and honestly I thought I would break the glass since it was literally right around the existing hole. But everything worked out. I only had a 1 1/2 inch hole saw so I just went with that. Here's the before and after
