ok so before i get chewed out again, here is a FTS. I blurred out the top and bottom because the stand and canopy are not ready yet. i haven't had time to work on anything outside the tank. i'm only allowed to keep parameters in check and thats about it.

and here are a couple of my favorite corals. this first one is my favorite, i've had it for about 5 years and probably about 3 of those years it did not grow at all (my fault). i probably killed it 3 times and it rose from the dead. if you ever get to see it in person you will see that there are two separate dead spots in the bark of the tree from when it died. it s my favorite because it grows like a christmas tree. it branches downward and has a very rich green color with green polyps. i always refer to it as my douglas fir

the second one i have gotten very recently and love the purple and green glow it has. i really only wanted a frag but i got the whole colony for dirt cheap.

and last but not least is a hawkins. i killed three of these before this one and i seem to have good luck with this one. maybe because of its size. Mike really hooked me up on this one.

We waited all that time for that. What a let down.

J/K. nice tank steve. I'm glad the Hawking is still alive. My whole colony's flesh started to peel one day and didn't stop till it was all gone.

Lol, tough crowd!

Tank looks awesome Steve. I love how open it is. Great to see all your livestock made it through the transition well.

That sucks, you can have it back if you want, just let me keep a frag of it lol

Don't send it back to Mikes tank. It's cooking Hawkins. I'm like you he's given me 3 small frags and finally a large piece made it. But then I rescaped and cut it in half one died one lived. Weird how that happens.

Same thing with the red planet. 3 small frags died then the large mother it's doing awesome and encrusted all over my rock.

So I've added some corals but mostly frags and dying pieces that I'm trying to save. I get a real enjoyment out of watching corals come back to life. The only issue I have is that I was getting some hair algae. Don't know where it came from but it started spreading. I know I need to change my rodi filters which are reading around 5-7. And/or my t5s need to be replaced.

Now with that said, my phosphate readings were at .10 and they've been dropping slowly but steady. It is now at .04. The hair algae is no longer spreading and not really growing. I pulled what I could with my hands and it no longer continues to grow in that spot. I was stumped but I realized one thing... The algae in the refugium is very thick. Its thicker than it looks and has rooted itself into the sand. The roots stick to the glass like vines on the freeway walls. The chaeto I had diminished and has almost died off. I trimmed both the chaeto and the other algae a week ago down to softball sizes and look at the difference in growth. Im thinking about just pulling out the chaeto for good.

Oh and for reference my fuge(this section) is 20x20x19. Filled to about 17" of water before it overflows to the right.

What is that macro you have besides the chaeto? The other green one.
It's calerpa. Yea I said it, I'm not scared of the 5-O I am 5-O. Honestly think it grows better than chaeto. I do take the proper steps to dispose it and don't pass it to random reefers.

Take it easy Alonzo Harris! I'm a wolf too.

That stuff grows really well for you.
