Looked @ the tank and every thing looks good. I fed the fishies and my rodi tds meter reads 3 so manana i will refill the chambers with fresh di and silicate buster. The work never ends lol
changed sock, cleaned collection cup on skimmer.
took diy dosers off testing, filled one with alk and one with cal and took hoses from measuring cup to sump. yay yay
I tired to catch a fish... Before that I was enjoying my 3 new fairy wrasses. I it a flag fin, a whip fin, and a c temmincki . The first couple days my male leopard wrasse was punking them, but yesterday evening they were getting along much better.
Today I'm gonna clean my skimmer. Test my levels. Try to catch the foxface again.
thank you for the minute by minute updates mr casas, but this isn't twitter..lmao..hahahahahahahahaha
I will be filling up my auto top off with kalk later today. Also have to do a water change on the qt and set up my new led moonlights and put them on the controller/timer.
Changed the carbon after 2 months, and 5 cups of high capacity gfo, last one lasted 3 weeks. Emptied putrid skimmer cup. Fed, the hills have eyes fish.
You need silicates in the tank but they need to be very low, I keep the silicates low with the spectra pure silicate buster. High silicates will make it hard for the corals to color up and you will have nuisance algae growth. One of the benefits of using rowaphos it also removes silicates.

lol I was having you of those days that I didnt feel like messing with the tank so I had other things to do around the house. I made my list and was very proud I got that out of the way thats all. I dont let my rodi tds get that high and was excited I finished. Kinda like thinking out loud but typing it lol.

Painted & caulked baseboard behind the new tank stand. Sealed up the baseboard to the tiles incase there is ever a little flood water will be diverted away from my wood flooring... :flood: All it takes is getting a new reef tank to get those final little touchups done around the house! lol.... stand pushed back into place. Working on retrofit lighting inside the canopy tonight. Getting ready for the big day...tomorrow!
I finally replaced the return pump and plugged it in for the first time. You know those anxious few moments that your eyes are scanning every inch looking for someting wrong? Water overflowing the tank? Overflowing the sump? LEAKS!!??
It's a nice feeling to see your reef come to life for the first time.
