Not a fan of this bulk Esv. It’s a bitch to sit here a shake a 5 gallon bucket. Been stirring and smashing bits for a week now. Hopefully soaking it in a tub of hot water will speed things up cause this is bs.

tanks looking like shit. I’ve been doing some home projects and algae has really taken hold now

Oh man, that sucks! Ever think about just using kalk? I'm running out of soda ash, so I'm going to switch over dosing it at night, combined with All for Reef. I feel your pain, hang in there. It's going to be a slow ride, but you have the skills to get it back on track. Also, pick up some PNS Probio, that stuff really works, especially when you combine it with Yello Sno (half dose).

You think perhaps all of this is/was being caused by your salt mix?

I don't think so, I have a good amount of faith in Brightwell products and have been using NeoMarine. I am tempted to swap all my DI filters even thought I'm zeroed on TDS, if anything is off it’s probably that?

I'll hopefully have this backyard raised garden bed/chill spot finished up by the weekend. Then I'll be turning my focus back to the tank.
Here’s after I pulled all our jacked up grass

gravel and fire pit and finish my auto irrigation drip and my side of the project will be done.

The tank WAY out of hand right now, bryposis has gone wild. I'm hoping all the nusiance algae is pulling some of the nasties along side the metasorb and carbon.

Wow the outdoor garden beds look great!
Thanks! A little over built but it's coming along nice. It was deceiving how much dirt it actually holds, about 4 cubic yards after contacting a tree trimming service to get some large logs to fill the bottom and offset some dirt.

Supposedly they'll act like sponges and hold in moisture which can be a problem of a tall raised bed from what I've read we will see.

This had my wife looking at me like " This isn't a reef tank Matt, it's just a garden!"

I wouldn’t say you’ve let it slip. Sometimes you just need to stop for a sec and walk away so you can recharge and refocus. I’m looking forward to watching the turn around of your tank.
I'll agree with that for sure. I was getting a little burnt on watching stuff die off and turned my attention to something else.

I fed my tank after my post earlier and noticed how slow the food was moving around. My lazy ass went to turn up my 6105's but apparently I had already done that, they were all maxed out. Probably working at about 15-20% output. That was enough to get me to start cleaning them and I saw they had about 1" of packed bryopsis all the way around. FYI, it's hard to grab but if you take a piece of dry paper tower it pulls right off.

That turned into me scraping the back wall and then I spent my daughter's nap pulling GHA and bryopsis with my hemostats and removing dead coral skeletons from the rock work. Not only does the tank look better but my my ph went from 8.1 to 8.38 now. I had been hitting a bottom of 7.59 in the AM, hopefully tomorrow it will stay much higher. Must have been surface agitation, doh!

I'll get a picture up of the tank tomorrow. I'm trying to decide how to go about the bryopsis, flucanozole or I may try Razor by brightwell.
