Update on the progress-
I made a screen top for the tank since I was getting a couple visitors I did not want inside the tank

Finished up plumbing inside the house (modified Herbie)

Started laying out rockwork and drilled the live rock

Built my new canopy- I put in some z clips on the front so now my front panel is removeable!! I did not like having to take the canopy off, slide it over, or having to lean over the height of the canopy on my old setup. This works MUCH better, and the canopy is lighter to move around.

I ghetto-rigged my sander to the vacuum to make a dustless sander to keep the wife happy! She did not want sawdust all over the garage. It worked amazingly

But little did she know the circular saw didnt have a dust port so keeping the garage sawdust free was an epic fail!!
lol.. genious

Having the sump in an extra room is awesome. Gonna be an awesome tank.
Oh its going to be the best idea since sliced bread. Now I can work on the tank in the garage away from the carpet, fancy furniture/electrical, and everything else I get yelled at for splashing saltwater on. Plus I can crank up the radio and do fragging, water changes and other normal tasks without having to annoy the wifey.
i like them yellow wheels. btw spoke with steve you better get that tank ready by march.
Plastidiped my winter rims blaze yellow! Im an really excited to get some of my SPS back in!!!

Probably need another 2 weeks. Gotta get the sump in from the acrylic guy up here and then some final plumbing & water. I am thinking it should be full of rock, sand & water around christmas
Oh thanks haha HELLO? I see... enough room to reach in and everything? Nice.
we arent all flexible hobbits that can maneuver around all the complex nooks and crannies in our canopies like you cody SHEESH.

With all the crap you have in the garage, you'd think you've been in that house for years. lol..

Otherwise, looking good. :) How's the construction on the tank? how did it compare to your other tank (it was Leemar, correct)?

awesome boss you have sir. Its coming together nicely!
Yeah the new boss is way better than my old Cali boss.

I know! and we purged a ton of stuff before we moved. The tank construction is really good. The silicone finish is not as perfectly smooth as lee mar does, but its a really solid tank, really clean and the glass is lined up like it should be. and it is exactly what i asked for.
What's the sump supposed to look like?
Sump is just going to be a acrylic box, like my old sump, but with a ton of holes drilled in it for all the plumbing. 5x holes in the back, 3 holes on the left panel for kalkwasser and skimmer, and 5 holes in the 3" eurobrace for the dosing pump and calcium reactor.

So I met with Jerry from Precision Plastics in Spokane last week and showed him some crude doodle of the sump I wanted.

This past week I took this home!!

Spent all weekend plumbing it up and getting all my wiring, insulation, etc into it. Filled it up and no leaks so far!- everything is running great, it is SUPER quiet.

Next steps- move rock into tank and fill with water!!!

What temps do you expect out there in the garage?

Should not get any lower than 45 in the garage since i put the big space heater in. Its been in the high 50s these past few weeks because i was working a lot in there and turned it up a bit for comfort

In the summer- high 80's at the most
