Didn't read the whole thread but maybe also cut some insulation foam and throw it under the tank to help relieve stress from flexing and the jitters from the pavement. Did ur husband bond the wood with wood glue also? Pretty surprising how strong wood glue would hold up

Thanks. I was thinking the same on the foam! It's a no on the wood glue but I don't think it'll be necessary. Plus we will probably end up taking the cart apart and using some of the wood to modify the stand with.

Well unfortunately we won't be able to use the foam. Since we're using the winch to pull it into the cart, there's no way we could get the tank to slide on the foam without just tearing it up. Bummer.

Should be going to pick it up on Saturday!!!!!

Use an old thick piece of carpet instead or cover foam with a thick fabric to stop it tearing.

Thanks for the suggestion but I would think it would still be a problem because of the resistance that would create when pulling the tank onto it. We need it to be able to slide easily so there's no undue stress on the 500lb tank. Am I wrong?

Going to pick up the tank tomorrow and wondering if there were any things you could suggest us taking with us that we might not have thought of already. We have cordless drill, large wench and pliers, pvc cutters, cables and tie downs, old blankets, etc etc. What are we forgetting?

Today's the big day!!! Driving there now but still a few hrs away... planning on taking a bunch of pics to document the process so that it may be helpful to others in the future that may need to do something similar. AND for all the haters that said it wouldn't work! I think you'll all be pretty impressed! :D

WISH US LUCK AND AN EASY, ISSUE-FREE MOVE! :)
