I’m assuming that your nitrates and phosphates are good. You mentioned that you had cyano lately. You might need more beneficial bacteria. I think you should add some microbacter 7 and microbacter clean to your tank. Just a suggestion.

Chasing heavy metals is like chasing a ghost. If you suspect heavy metals, then dilution via water change may help. But it’s like a ghost, not sure if it exists.
I hear ya. I've been adding some prodibo biodigest every 10 days. I added a large amount of MB7 to the sand bed when I started filling the tank with salt water.

I'm feeling 95% better today so I'm gonna get down and change my filters, clean out my mixing barrels/rodi container, check my mixing pump and make some new saltwater. Then I'll perform a decent sized water change tomorrow and add some type of metal absorbing media/polyfilter.

sorry to hear man, when it rains it pours

i'm not familiar with chloroquine myself, from following some of the humblefish vendors not much touches uronema these days and most just refuse to stock chromis anymore. there's a canadian vendor that was experimenting with tea tree oil baths, pure metronidazole, along with formalin baths iirc, quite the treatment

https://humble.fish/community/index.php?threads/uronema.13/post-184457

i think that's the latest he has said anything about it
I really wanted a group for this tank but yeah it's looking a bit grim for them. That's a trip, I could have sworn CP worked for me in the past, maybe it' resistant or I just got lucky/had a false ID of it.

well the tank looks great man, hopefully you can figure out whatever is making the corals mad

both of my sunsets turned male at the same time and somehow don't mind each other at all. they don't hang out together, but i've yet to see either one try to be aggressive to the other. anthias are a trip

Fingers crossed! Hopefully it’s something that I can pick up on with the icp.

that’s cool though. I felt like two of my trio were going to go male but this one got the better hand. I’d love to add more eventually. I feel like the pintail has more room and other fish to focus on so he probably won’t go agro on the male like before.

Dude! Tank looks great for everything going on.
Thanks. Hahah I got lucky that one purplish piece seems to be extremely hardy and is right up front. Seems completely unphased so far. The Hawkins and Oregon tort look perfect as well. The rest I feel like I can see some signs of stress.

completed a 40g water change with neomarine today. I added fresh poly filters as well. I ended up siphoning about 10 lbs of sand out. I’ll probably continue on that route until I’m at a 2” bed in the deep parts. Some of these areas were closer to 3-4, that’s just too much to keep up with.
I’m gonna clear the graveyard so I can start to find permanent positions for what looks to be holding on.

Getting my ass humbled right now. The chromis are panting heavy and I lost the eight line wrasse in QT along with 1 chromis. So they’ve got something.

I don’t see any pink or sore like spots. The wrasse was stuck to the tunze so it’s hard to tell what’s what.

I pulled all rock and sand from the tank. Dosed kanaplex for now. I’ve got some chloroquine phosphate I think I’ll dose that, possibly along side GC for the remaining chromis unless anyone knows of complications from doing those at the same time?

Bummer man, my eight line made it into the tank and was just very shy, hid a lot. I finally saw him one day and his tail fin looked wrecked, idk if yellow tang beat it up or something or bacterial infection, but he didnt make it

Ah sorry to hear man!

If I try again I'll probably just prophylactically treat the fish. I may do that with all fish going forward since the tanks pretty well stocked now.

I used to only deworm, since I didnt qt corals but im sure i got my velvet from a frag plug. Plus even if the tank does have a parasite, bringing them in as healthy as possible is probably the best option.

 I think you called it @drexel. Tin is at 40.58 ug/l

The Copper is in the green but I feel like that's a first registering anything for copper on my ICP. I'll have to look through it.

Zinc is also elevated a bit and I've never dosed it.

Glad you have some answers now. Maybe tank manufacturers should put a disclaimer on new tanks stating that they should be rinsed out several times before use. It's kinda like throwing a razor in the sump and leaving it there for several months. Let me know if you want my detox, I'll drop it in the mail asap? Just text me if you need it?

So any idea on how the metal(s) were introduced?
Well I think drexel was right about Tin coming from the new tank itself. I should have wiped down all surfaces when I test filled it then drained it. From what I'm reading not a lot removes tin so I'm going to be doing water changes going forward.

I'm not sure on the copper and zinc yet. Some of the colonies were very large and hard to remove from the rock. I had to get in there with a hammer and chisel, also used a multitool at one point and my bone cutters have some rust on them. I checked all equipment for missing teeth or piece of themselves but maybe something got by, not 100% sure there.
My other thought is the cheap Jebao return I've been running up to this point. I planned on swapping to my m1 or a RO varios 8 but haven't got around to swapping it yet. It looked fine when I placed it in there, I ran it on my 180g for a while too.

This interesting. I never considered a tank coming from there manufacturer with metals in/on it, but with metal stand fabrication I guess this is a very real possibility.

I think the theory there comes from when they make the glass panels they float it on top of molten metal that's usually tin. I'm not sure if that's 100% true in all glass, just what I've read online.
