Actually my calcium was at 700 3 months ago. I just recently reset this tank on 8/11 and so far 480 is what m getting. As far as nitrates I think my chaetos are stiil dormant;) Any other suggestions to lower it besides the obvious?:afraid:

Feed pellet and spirulina flake instead of meaty frozen food. More frequent WC's. If you have a sock remove it 3 times a week. Don't let that sock sit there. That's all I got.

Vodka does work. But I'm sure it can mess things up when not done properly.

Just installed my new StarkLED 50w LED light system over my 20g nano. Its not cree led's, just bridgelux. 12x3w whites, 12x3w blues, 2x3w UV. Basically sold my sunpod and traded my spare 55g reef tank for it. Also replace my mj1200 with a rio 800 for return.

Turned off the rodi, don't want flooding. I got paranoid around 4 am and took a peek. I need a float valve!

Params check.. everything okay nitrates at .05 ..not bad I guess lol.. messing around with the sump saw lots of growth of a red bubble macro ....super happy about it :)

Then saw things moving on the glass, sand bed, macro, return pump, lr.... Finally seeing some sort of pods growing :) almost brought tears to my eyes.. lol so I laid down in the prone, and just stared at them for a good 10mn..

No matter how much of a crazy day you have at work, or how much it sucks to have to work so much.. my tank always takes my mind off it all! ....I'm so glad I switched to salt water :)

I have 150 g mostly sps tank. I got bored and changed 60% of the water. I know you are not supposed to change more than 10-15% at a time, but I've done 50% before and everything did fine. I also mixed the salt right before replacing the water.

As long as you matched alk,ph, and temp it's not all that dicey, (daredevil)! Now if the make up water was still milky, your a mad man.
